Do you want to, support and advocate for students, work with leaders to build a strong community, develop career-ready skills, and make lifelong friends and have tons of fun?

THIS IS THE SIGN YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

The student society representing all students in the Mitch and Leslie Frazer Faculty of Education is holding its elections. This is your opportunity to run for an elected position and make a real impact within your faculty’s community.

Also, the OTSU Board Director position for the Faculty of Education is being elected. This is your chance to Bring your unique, faculty-specific insight and experience to bear on issues that matter most to you and your cohort!

IMPORTANT ELECTIONS DATES

  • Nomination Period: Oct. 21–27
  • All-Candidates Meeting: Oct. 29
  • Campaign Period: Oct. 30–Nov. 5
  • Voting Period: Nov. 6–7
  • Unofficial Results Announced: Nov. 8

ELIGIBILITY

Any full-time student in good standing in the Faculty of Education, and who will continue to be a student for the following calendar year, can run for the Board Director position or any of the Society’s elected positions (e.g. President, VP Internal, VP Finance, etc.).

ABOUT BEING A BOARD DIRECTOR

Board Directors bring the voice of their faculty’s student body to the table in the union’s decision-making process. They are responsible for governing the strategic direction of the Ontario Tech Student Union, approving budgets, overseeing the elected student executives, and providing overall guidance and strategic vision to the OTSU. This is a part-time, voluntary position with an honorarium. Learn more at otsu.ca/governance.

ABOUT BEING A SOCIETY EXECUTIVE

Society executives fulfill important functions for their society so that they can continue to bring value to their membership. Societies work with the OTSU and with their faculty’s administration and professors to provide fun networking events, professional development opportunities and more.
