Winter Fest 2025 Events
Let's face it, January can be a drag. The holidays are behind us, New Years Eve is a memory—sort of—and we're waiting around until Family day or Reading Week for some time off.
But then we made Winter Fest and fixed all that!
Every year in January, we start the semester with a bunch of fun events and activities to ease you into the new term (tease people back to campus, perhaps?). This year we have a good mix of both chilled out and upbeat vibes so that there's a little something for everyone.
Hang out at the retro arcade, find an interesting club to join at the student clubs fair, get your groove on at the disco skate and after party. There's a petting zoo, the Carriage Cup hockey game, a New Years themed dance party at TwoTwoTwo, and more!
And what would back-to-school be without a giveaway? We're giving away a $200 grocery card and a Magic Bullet package to one lucky winner in January. To enter, just come down to our events and look for the contest QR code to enter.

Warm up Welcome Fair
Hot chocolate and good vibes. Learn about OTSU services.
Pancakes & Welcome Fair
Join us in Charles Hall for some hotcakes with all the trimmings, and wake up with a nice hot pancake breakfast. We’ll have an OTSU services table there as well so you can explore all the services OTSU offers, like tax filing, health plan, period project, and more. The OTSU Esports folks will be there hosting an Esports Alley, so you can chill, play a couple games and meet some of the good folks in our gaming community. Basically there’s a bunch of fun stuff happening, so come check it out.
Wellness Nook Grand Opening
We're so excited to finally reveal that we're opening an OTSU Wellness Nook at the North campus! Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony and refreshments in SHA 029 as we open the doors as let students take a look at the space. Students will be able to book the space for independent, self care and self reflection activities, such as yoga, meditation, decompression relaxation, and aromatherapy. Wellness Nook amenities include: Comfy furniture to relax A kettle and herbal teas Grounding mat Weighted blanket Massage equipment De-stressings puzzles and colouring books Start booking later in January at otsu.ca/appointments

Carriage Cup 2025
Cheer on your Ridgebacks as they defend their title against Toronto Metropolitan Bold in the 2nd annual Carriage Cup! And Experience the excitement and intensity of live hockey in a setting like none other, as Ontario Tech University takes over the Tribute Centre in Downtown Oshawa! We have a limited number of FREE tickets we're giving out to students throughout Winter Fest, so visit our Winter Fest events to see if you can score yourself one (we're also doing an unadvertised giveaway somewhere in there, but you didnt hear that from me!). All proceeds from the second annual Carriage Cup will go towards supporting the Ontario Tech Adopt-a-Ridgeback program and the Student Relief Fund.
