Pints & Politics: Cool name, But What Is It??
We're thrilled to welcome MPPs and municipal representatives to 2200 North for an evening of friendly political conversation.
A large part of what the OTSU is advocating for you in a space where you can’t be or students aren’t often invited to the table. A lot of our municipal advocacy for things like transit happens at midday which is the working day but always when students tend to be in class. You’ll often see our executive team spending days at Queen’s Park (Ontario’s Legislature) to push issues that impact students, such as housing, transit, mental health and funding for universities that aren't rooted in tuition.
We understand that you’re typically in class, working, or studying during these times. That's why we’ve brought the politicians to you, ensuring you can participate in this important event without disrupting your daily routine!
On April 5th, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we will be hosting various Municipal and Provincial Politicians at 2200 North for Pints and Politics!

Pints & Politics 2024
Pints & Politics is BACK! That's right, on April 5, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we will be hosting various Municipal and Provincial Politicians at 2200 North. Our Pints and Politics event is an initiative aimed at fostering meaningful engagement between students and elected officials in their riding(s). Our students found last year such value in meeting with representatives and having in-depth discussions about the issues in our community during our previous event that we are excited to continue to offer this opportunity. Take a well-deserved break and join us for an amazing evening of civic engagement.Date: April 5, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Location: 2200 North Registration form: https://forms.gle/GSUEnMYHYyVHAxHa6
This is not just an event, it's a unique opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with the leaders and change-makers in our community. Here, you can ask questions, share your perspectives, and participate in meaningful discussions about municipal and provincial policies that directly impact you. This is a unique opportunity for students to engage in an open dialogue with the very politicians who can amplify our voices, ensuring our concerns are not just heard, but addressed at the highest levels of governance.
If you’re interested but not sure how to talk or not familiar with this type of event check out Angelique’s blog, Navigating Political Conversations, for “Tips for Non-Partisan Dialogue at OTSU's Pints & Politics”.
Everyone is welcome and free appetizers are provided while supplies last!
