YOUR SOCIETIES

Societies are faculty-based groups that are governed by students who are elected by
their peers. Societies exist to provide meaningful opportunities for the students of their faculties to
get involved, build their skillset, and network with professionals!

FAQ

How much funding are Societies eligible for?

Instead of direct financial support from the Ontario Tech Student Union, Societies’ funding has been redirected to provide office space for the Societies in the new Student Centre building.

What are the rules governing Society Elections?

The guidelines for campaigns can be found in the Nomination Package

What is the Presidents Council Meeting?

The Presidents Council Meeting is our way to better understand the diverse needs of the student body. This monthly meeting is comprised of the Presidents of each of the Societies and allows us to gauge the voice of the students, receive feedback and disperse valuable information.
