How can we help you?
What is the difference between a Club and a Society?
Clubs are based on common interests, hobbies or potential career aspirations. Societies on the other hand, are based on institutional faculties (Health Science, Engineering, Business etc.).
Who can get involved with Clubs and Societies?
If you are a full-time Ontario Tech Student, that has not opted out of the Clubs and Societies fee, you are able to participate! Clubs are open to everyone; Societies are dependent on your admission to that faculty.
How do I start a Club?
We have all of the tools required to support you in starting your own club. Visit the “Join or Start a Group” Tab for a detailed explanation to help you get started!
Can I be in a Club/Society if I opted out of the fee?
Unfortunately, no, you cannot. We want to allow all students to have the opportunity to provide meaningful experiences on campus. For that to work, and to be sustainable, we need to ensure that those who are using the Clubs system are opted in.
Can I opt out mid-year for a refund?
Once the deadline to pay your fees has passed you are not eligible to opt out of these fees.
